Jewish Ghetto of Rome
The history of Rome's Jewish community stretches back 2,000 years but is usually identified with one specific area - the Ghetto and its haunting memories of 300 years of deprivation behind locked gates. During our tour we enter the Great Synagogue to admire the splendour and then its Museum to view incredible relics of Rome’s Jewish heritage. We also see other fascinating, yet little known sites of Jewish interest in and around the vibrant Ghetto area. With absorbing tales, anecdotes and the occasional touch of humour, this is truly a tour to remember
